GAMMADDA GIFTS RO WATER FILTERATION SYSTEM TO GALNEWA

Naaegama Sirisumana Vidyalaya, located in the Galnewa area of the Anuradhapura District, provides education for around 165 students from Grade 1 to 11. Despite its importance as a local educational institution, the school struggles with a serious lack of access to clean drinking water. This issue also affects the nearby village of Naaegampaha, where approximately 170 families face similar challenges in meeting their daily water needs.

Responding to a request from the school principal, the Gammadda initiative has proposed the installation of a reverse osmosis (RO) water purification system. The project aims to provide safe and clean drinking water to both the school and the surrounding village by using water from an existing tube well on the school premises. The Sri Lanka Navy will provide technical support to ensure successful implementation of the system.

This vital project commenced on May 19, 2025, coinciding with the 82nd birth anniversary of the late R. Rajamahendran, founder of Gammadda and former Chairman of the Capital Maharaja Group. The initiative is funded by the Gammadda Community Fund and reflects Gammadda’s continued dedication to solving grassroots issues and uplifting rural communities across Sri Lanka
