Gal-Edanda Road Renovation project in Welimada, Badulla

The road from the Gal Edanda Health Center in the Kandagolla Grama Niladhari Division of the Badulla Welimada Divisional Secretariat to Welihinna Pahalawela is in a dilapidated condition. The dilapidated section of this road is about 600 meters. Ampitiya Ella Gammadda Saviya society had requested Gammadda to renovate this section with concrete.

About 100 families from the village and about 200 people from the surrounding villages use this road and they were very much affected by this situation. They also told us that this was a major obstacle to taking their daily harvest to the market, mainly for their livelihood from agriculture.

However, to alleviate their grief, Gammadda joined hands with them to repair the road on July 31 in the midst of the COVID 19 Pandemic. This road constructed with the labor contribution of the villagers was vested to the public on the 30thDecember 2021.
