Clean Drinking Water for Kandahindagama

The Hulannuge Kandahindagama village in the Lahugala Divisional Secretariat is located in Ampara District. The number of families living is more than 200. About 300 children who come for Sunday school and their families too suffers from the lack of clean drinking water.

Currently water is provided by a community water project and the medical institutions does not recommend this water too as it is not fit for human consumption. Many kidney patients have also been identified in this village.

Project work was completed and the project was vested to the public on the 2nd of April 2022.

This RO water purification plant was constructed at the premises of the Hulannuge Kandahindagama Sri Bauddhaloka Dharma Nikethanaramaya Temple.

Water is obtained from a public well. Sri Lanka Navy provided technical assistance.
