Gammadda Ihaladiggala Drinking Water Project Ready to Commence!

More than 300 families live in Ihaladiggala village in the Dewahuwa Grama Sevaka Division in the Galewela Divisional Secretariat in the Matale District.

These people who's  livelihood is farming, also make a living by working as laborers.

They are suffering because they have to pay for drinking water. Their only intention in approaching Gammadda was to obtain a drop of clean drinking water.

There are people suffering from kidney disease in this village and there are people who have died due to it too.

There is only a small water filter that draws water from the tube well in the village school and provides drinking water to the school children.

The commencement for the construction of the RO Water purification Plant, done with the technical assistance of the Navy took place today.

This project that will be completed in no time will help provide water to the school and the village soon.
