Clean Drinking Water for Maithrigama

The village of Maithrigama is a small village in the rural Palugaswewa Divisional Secretariat located in the Anuradhapura District. The residents are mainly farmers and daily wage labourers. Their groundwater supply is contaminated with calcium deposits. Their wells dry up during the dry seasons and they are only able to farm during the wet seasons.

There are 28 patients in the area undergoing treatment as of now. The installation of a Reverse Osmosis filtering plant in Maithrigama will help the villagers immensely.

Almost 700 agrarian families in Maithrigama and several surrounding villages will have immediate access to clean drinking water.

Project commencement is due on the 19th of May 2022.
